Tape Armchair

The Tape Armchair follows the formal logic of the Belt Armchair — another Nendo design for Minotti — in identifying a single accessory or material detail from outside the furniture tradition and applying it to the armchair format with rigorous consistency. Where the Belt uses a leather strap, the Tape uses a metal ribbon — a formal gesture that references the language of industrial design and product engineering while remaining fully within the vocabulary of luxury furniture.

The metal tape — available in Bronze or Black-Nickel — connects the legs to the underside of the upholstered shell in a way that is clearly visible from seated height. This decision to make the connection detail visible rather than concealing it beneath the upholstery is characteristic of Nendo's approach: the joint is the design. The cast aluminum or solid wood base options provide a range of material combinations that can be adapted to different interior contexts while maintaining the Tape's essential character.
