GamFratesi's Angie Armchair reflects the studio's sustained interest in the dialogue between protective exterior forms and soft interior volumes — a formal theme that runs through much of their furniture and architectural work. The saddle-hide shell, which is drawn tight over the structural form and stitched by hand along its seams, provides a material reference to the traditions of equestrian equipment and high-end leather goods, connecting the Angie to a world of craft and durability that is culturally distinct from the upholstery traditions of conventional furniture.

Saddle-hide is a vegetable-tanned leather that develops character with age and use — its surface patinas, its color deepens, and the marks of occupation become part of its beauty rather than evidence of wear. This aging quality makes the Angie particularly appropriate for residential environments where furniture is expected to improve over time. The channeled goose down cushions — produced to Minotti's exacting specifications — provide the kind of deep, yielding comfort that justifies extended occupation of the chair.
