Clyfford Coffee Table

The Clyfford's design logic — that coffee tables are most effective when composed as a family rather than specified as isolated objects — reflects Dordoni's understanding of how contemporary lounge environments actually function. In hotel lobbies, executive lounges, and open-plan residential living rooms, the coffee table zone typically serves multiple simultaneous functions: drinks surface, display surface, spatial definer, and visual anchor for a seating arrangement. A single table of any format struggles to serve all these functions simultaneously; a composed group of tables at varying heights, with varying top sizes and materials, can address them all.

The laser-cut metal frames — a manufacturing process that produces edges of exceptional precision and straightness — give the Clyfford a quality of structural exactness that is perceptible as quality without being explicitly apparent as a specific technique. The Pewter-colored finish connects the Clyfford to Minotti's broader material language while providing a neutral tone that coordinates with a wide range of upholstery and interior finishes. The beveled edge detailing on the top surface adds a shadow line at the perimeter that defines the top visually and prevents it from appearing as a simple flat plane.
