Marcel Wanders is a Dutch designer and the co-founder and art director of Moooi. Born in 1963, Wanders is one of the most prolific and recognisable designers of his generation, known for a body of work that blends the conceptual, the romantic, and the technically innovative. His work spans product design, interiors, and architecture across brands including Cappellini, Alessi, and Moooi.

Moooi was founded in Amsterdam in 2001 by Marcel Wanders and Casper Vissers. The name is a play on the Dutch word for beautiful — the extra 'o' stands for an added measure of beauty, uniqueness, and wonder. Operating as a platform for international creative talent, Moooi collaborates with designers including Bertjan Pot, Raimond Puts, Maarten Baas, Studio Job, and Front, producing lighting, furniture, and rugs that sit at the intersection of art, craft, and function.
