Naoto Fukasawa is a Japanese product designer and Maruni's art director since 2010. Born in 1956 in Yamanashi Prefecture, Fukasawa is one of the most significant designers of his generation, celebrated for his minimalist approach and deep understanding of materials. He co-founded the Super Normal movement with Jasper Morrison in 2005.

Maruni
Maruni was founded in Hiroshima, Japan in 1928. Under the concept of Industrialised Craftsmanship, the company has mastered the integration of traditional Japanese woodworking with modern CNC technology, producing furniture that is hand-finished by skilled artisans. In 2008, product designer Naoto Fukasawa became Maruni's art director, launching the Hiroshima collection and establishing the brand's contemporary international identity through collaborations with Jasper Morrison, Cecilie Manz, and SANAA.
