Iroko — the tropical hardwood chosen for the Florida's base — is selected for qualities that make it particularly well suited to coastal and garden applications. Its natural oils make it highly resistant to moisture, insects, and fungal attack without the need for chemical treatment, and its dimensional stability under varying humidity conditions prevents the warping and splitting that affects less durable hardwoods in exterior applications. Available in natural or weathered finish, the Iroko base connects the Florida to the traditions of fine boat-building and exterior architectural joinery — contexts in which material performance and aesthetic quality are required simultaneously.
The water-repellent Dry-foam polyurethane cushioning is a technical advancement over conventional outdoor foam that maintains its dimensional stability and comfort characteristics through repeated exposure to rain and humidity. Unlike conventional open-cell foam, which absorbs water and requires extended drying time, the Dry-foam structure allows water to pass through and drain away rapidly, enabling the furniture to be used again shortly after rain. The high-performance outdoor fabric upholstery options complete the weather-resistance specification while providing the color and texture range expected of a Minotti product.
