LEM height-adjustable

LEM takes its name and its idea from the lunar module that carried astronauts to the moon: a structure built to carry real function while shedding every unnecessary gram. Reduced to a footrest ring, a slim column, and a compact seat, the stool applies that same discipline to a piece of furniture that is used constantly and needs to disappear visually when it is not being looked at.

Height adjustment is handled by a gas lift built into the column, letting the seat move between a lower and a higher position rather than sitting fixed at one height. The same shape is also offered as a self aligning or a fixed stool, so a run of seating can share one form across counters set at different heights.

Because the seat height adjusts on its own column, LEM height adjustable suits a kitchen island or counter used by more than one person, where a single fixed stool height would suit only some of them. It is also specified in bars, cafes, and reception areas for the same reason: one stool that adapts to whoever sits on it, rather than a set that has to be matched to one counter height.
