Michele De Lucchi & Gerhard Reichert for Artemide, 2001.
Logico was born from the idea of systematizing light diffusion — creating a modular family where a single organic diffuser form could be deployed individually or combined into compositions of almost architectural scale. Designed by Michele De Lucchi and German engineer-designer Gerhard Reichert in 2001, the series takes its defining element from the sky: the diffuser’s gentle asymmetric curve was inspired by the way light disperses through the upper atmosphere.
Each diffuser is hand-blown glass with a dual-finish technique — polished on the inner face, satin on the outer — that gives the lamp a completely different character when on versus off. The lower edge is cut with a diamond blade for precision. The frame in die-cast aluminum carries a pale grey matte lacquer, and the series offers single, triple-linear, and triple-nested suspension configurations, plus table, floor, and wall variants. Available in milky white or smoky grey. The design’s modularity has made it a staple in residential, hospitality, and cultural interiors worldwide.
