Noor Coffee Table

The Noor Coffee Table is one of Minotti Studio's most formally distinctive accessory designs. The truncated cone form — a geometric solid that is both familiar and unusual in the furniture context — provides a stable base of generous diameter that reduces to a smaller upper surface, creating a proportional relationship between base and top that gives the Noor a visual sense of mass and gravity despite its relatively modest dimensions.

The deep vertical grooves that run from top to base are not merely decorative. They serve to articulate the surface of the cone, breaking what would otherwise be a uniform curved surface into a series of alternating ridges and channels that create complex light and shadow effects across the table's body. This surface treatment transforms a simple geometric form into a visually active object that contributes to the character of its surroundings. The glossy lacquer finish — available in Minotti's full color palette — amplifies this effect by providing a reflective surface that catches and reflects light with intensity. The monolithic Baydur® casting ensures that the color is consistent throughout the form, eliminating the risk of chipping or scratching that would compromise a surface-applied finish.
