The Tolomeo Mega Floor carries the renowned balancing system of the original Tolomeo into a grander format, pairing the polished aluminium arms with a choice of parchment, cotton, or fabric shades in a selection of sizes. Where the standard Tolomeo directs a focused beam, the Mega diffuses light through its generous shade to create a warmer, more ambient glow — still fully adjustable, still balanced with a fingertip, but suited to living rooms and lounges as much as workspaces.
The tension cable mechanism remains identical to the table lamp: no springs, no visible joints, just a pure system of tensioned steel holding the arm in equilibrium. The floor base is a weighted disc in polished aluminium. Multiple shade sizes allow the lamp to scale from intimate reading corners to large, open-plan spaces.
About the Designers
Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina designed the original Tolomeo in 1987 — it received the Compasso d’Oro and has been in continuous production ever since. The Mega extends that legacy into the ambient lighting segment with no compromise to the original’s functional elegance.
