Yanzi Suspension

The Yanzi Suspension is a study in tension — a polished aluminium cylinder suspended between two slender arms by a taut wire, as if caught mid-fall. The name references the swallow (yanzi in Mandarin), and the lamp’s silhouette captures exactly that: a bird in flight, wings extended, body suspended in the moment between motion and stillness. It is one of Artemide’s most distinctly poetic designs — architecture translated into light.

The cylinder houses an LED source that emits a warm, directional glow both downward from the open end and through a narrow gap in the body, creating a halo effect around the shade. The result is a fixture that holds visual interest from every angle and casts light that feels considered rather than decorative. Available in satin nickel and black finishes.

About the DesignersNeri&Hu is a Shanghai-based architecture and design practice founded by Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu. Their work is known for its philosophical engagement with materiality, memory, and the tension between East and West. They have designed for Established & Sons, Moooi, and De La Espada, and have completed major hospitality and institutional projects across Asia, Europe, and the United States.
