Drop

Drop solves a small practical problem with a single material decision: instead of adding a visible chain or bracket to hang a large round mirror, the leather frame itself extends into the strap that holds the mirror to the wall. The mirror reads as one continuous leather object, glass and hardware together, rather than a piece of glass with a separate mounting fitted behind it.

The frame is built from leather-covered metal, backed by a melamine-faced particle board. Poliform can specify the round mirror glass itself with a bronzed finish, which warms the reflection compared with a clear mirror while leaving the leather frame and its integrated hanging strap unchanged.

Because Drop is a generously sized round mirror, it works best where it can stand as its own focal point, over an entryway console or above a low dresser, rather than being crowded by other wall-mounted pieces nearby. Designers should weigh the leather color and the bronzed mirror option together against the furniture it will hang above, since the leather frame is wide enough to read as the dominant material in that part of the room, not a minor detail around the glass.
