Alexander lets squared and curved modules sit in one composition instead of committing to a single language. Rationalist geometry supplies the straight-edged pieces, while the range’s own Drop curved elements, a chaise-longue or rounded corner module, let a straight run evolve into a softer line without breaking the modular grid. Backrests and armrests come high, low or mixed, so the same system can enclose an intimate corner on one side of a room and keep sightlines open on the other.

The seat structure is solid wood, sprung with high-rubber-content elastic webbing and coated in high-resilience, variable-density polyurethane foam, with backrest and armrest elements coated the same way regardless of height. Backrest cushions use goose down over a Memory Foam core, and every cover comes off in fabric or leather; on the high-backed modules the lining even carries a zipper opening near the stitching for easier removal. The base is Bronze-coloured aluminium bars that lift the whole composition off the floor.

Because the high-backed modules form a genuinely enclosed corner, Alexander suits a living room that wants a defined reading or television nook within an open plan, while the low-backed elements keep a sightline open to a kitchen or a view. The Drop curved pieces are what let a composition turn a corner rather than run in straight lines only. Designers should decide the mix of high and low backrests before laying out the modules, since that sets which parts of the room the seating will enclose.
