Daniels Seating System

Daniels treats a living room the way a landscape plan treats a site: as elements whose combination creates the scenery, not a single fixed sofa shape. Regular curves and ellipses interrupt what would otherwise be a straight run of modules. The backrest is built from two different depths, so the backs appear to overlap rather than reading as one continuous run of upholstery through the middle of a room.

Daniels can be finished entirely in fabric, entirely in leather, or with the base and armrests in leather and the cushion in fabric. The seat structure is plywood coated in high-resilience, variable-density polyurethane foam with a concave contour that holds the cushion in place, and backrests and armrests are plywood of varying thickness under the same foam. Cushions are completely reversible, with goose down padding, and every cover is removable.

The offset version lets the backrest jut from the side of the seat, so it pairs with the Amber ottoman or low unit for a different arrangement, and the system pairs naturally with the Amber storage units and the Clive console where a project wants storage folded into the same living area. A removable ottoman on wheels attaches with magnets, doubling as extra seating or a side surface. Designers should position it last, once the rest of the layout is fixed.
