Apollo Sofa

Apollo treats comfort as a question of shape rather than of padding alone. The collection is built from an in-line sofa, a curved sofa, terminal elements, a chaise longue, a dormeuse and a swivel armchair, all drawn with the same curved yet rigorous lines, which is what lets pieces from across the range sit together without looking mismatched. The design of the backrest and the generous seat depth, together with anatomical shaping in the padding, is the actual argument for how welcoming the piece feels.

Underneath the upholstery, the back and seat structures are built on a frame of tubular steel and steel profiles, with the seat’s internal frame in multi-layered and solid wood. The backrest padding is a flexible, cold-shaped polyurethane foam over polyester fibre, while the seat and back cushions add sterilized down into the mix for a softer top layer. A painted aluminium edge runs along the lower frame. The fabric covers carry a raised stitching detail and the leather covers an envelope stitching instead, so the two upholstery choices read differently even on the same shape of sofa.

Because the range runs from a single swivel armchair up to full sofas and chaise longues, Apollo works as a complete living room seating plan rather than a sofa chosen on its own, with the dormeuse or chaise longue extending a run of seating for a family room built around lounging as much as sitting upright.
