Pathos Table

Pathos works from a single detail repeated across every top shape it comes in: rounded corners and a refined edge treatment, whether the top ends up round, rectangular or square. That edge is doing the actual design work, since a table available in three different top shapes needs something consistent to tie them together, and the softened, curved edge is what makes a square Pathos and a round Pathos read as the same table rather than three separate designs.

The top itself is built either in MDF wood fibre panel finished in a glossy painted colour, or in marble with a glossy or matt polyester finish, so a designer can choose between a lacquered surface and a stone one on the same base. That base is a drawn steel frame with X-shaped legs.

As a dining or occasional table, Pathos suits a room where the top material is doing most of the talking, a lacquered colour for a brighter dining space or a marble surface for a more formal one. Designers should decide on the top shape, round, rectangular or square, alongside the material, since the rounded edge detail reads differently depending on which shape carries it.
