Flirt is built from a single decision: two identical sheets of stainless steel, each bent into a C shape, set facing one another so they form two semi-circular surfaces at two different heights rather than one flat top. The whole table is effectively made from one material worked into a shape, rather than a frame with a separate top applied to it.

Each sheet is 6 mm thick polished stainless steel, varnished either Gold or Black-Nickel, and the two sheets are joined with visible screws left as a decorative detail rather than hidden, so the construction is part of what is seen rather than something concealed beneath a finish. Because it comes in only one size, the two finishes are really the only choice to make, and they change the table from a warm, jewellery-like object in Gold to a darker, more graphic one in Black-Nickel.

The two different heights mean Flirt can hold a drink at arm’s reach on one level and a book or a small object on the other, which makes it a genuinely useful side table rather than a purely decorative one despite its metallic character. It suits a spot beside a sofa or an armchair where a single small table needs to do more than one job, and its bright metal surface reads well next to darker upholstery or wood. Designers should place it where both levels remain reachable from a seated position, since the two-height design is the whole point of the table.
