Bailly Side Table

Bailly’s defining detail is a metal ring set into the top edge, a shape that borrows directly from a wedding ring and wraps the table the way a band wraps a stone. That single decorative gesture, rather than an elaborate base, is what gives an otherwise simple cylindrical table its character, and it means the choice of ring finish changes the table’s whole tone more than any other single decision.

The frame beneath the ring is built from a curved plywood shell veneered in a Moka coloured Louro Faia wood, over an interior structure in shaped MDF, and the top is set into a bevelled edge in either a veined Zebrino marble or a black glass paste, each catching light differently against the wood body. On the two smallest sizes the table rests on plain felt slides, while the larger versions add adjustable metal feet, a small but practical difference for levelling a taller, heavier piece on an uneven floor.

Because Bailly comes in four sizes, it can work as a true side table next to a chair or a bed at its smallest, and scale up to a genuine coffee table in front of a sofa at its largest, all sharing the same ring and wood language. Its warm wood body and stone or glass top suit a living room or bedroom where a single well-made accent piece is wanted rather than a plain occasional table. Designers should match the ring finish, Light Gold or a more muted Malt, to the other metal already in the room, since it is the one element that is impossible to miss.
