Amber

Amber starts from a piece of geometry rather than a fixed shape: quarter, eighth and sixteenth segments of a circle, developed into three-dimensional volumes that can twist and turn through a room instead of sitting as one static block. Because the pieces share that geometric logic, they combine into a wide range of configurations, so the same family can be a single low table in one room and a longer, turning sequence of units in another.

The construction pairs a wenge wood frame, finished in a Moka lacquer, with an outer cladding of matte Malt-coloured metal only 3 mm thick, so a warm wood interior sits inside a cooler metal skin. On some sizes, an interior divider is added in Zebrino marble, or in a glossy Warm Grey lacquer on the larger round and semi-round versions, breaking up what would otherwise be one plain compartment. The family also includes square units, some open on all sides and others closed with a single push-and-pull drawer, so storage and open display sit within the same visual language.

Amber is designed to sit at the centre of a room rather than against a wall, working as the piece that links a seating arrangement together, and Minotti pair it with modular seating systems to build one connected living landscape. In a family room, an open version keeps objects on display, while the drawer version gives the same footprint a place to put things away. Because the units combine in so many configurations, a designer should plan open and closed pieces around what the room needs to store versus display.
