Florida’s idea is practical: one outdoor seating system flexible enough for a small patio or a large hospitality terrace. Minotti build it from soft, rounded volumes rather than a fixed sofa shape, so the same forms assemble into a two-seater, a corner, or a wide lounge. A later addition, a removable backrest resting on the large ottomans, lets cushions be lifted and turned to face either way, so the same pieces form a back-to-back arrangement or a single lounge depending on use.

Durability sits in the frame and the fastening, not just the fabric. A metal frame, treated against corrosion, carries foam padding wrapped in waterproof fibre and then fabric, so resistance runs through every layer. Feet are solid iroko or natural teak, and the same woods support the rear elements holding the backrest cushions, fastened with Pewter metal frogs so covers unhook and come off quickly for cleaning, which matters for cushions that live outdoors.

Florida suits a terrace, poolside or garden setting where one flexible system beats several fixed pieces. In hospitality, Minotti place it on yacht decks and metropolitan terraces as well as larger resort areas, covering an intimate corner and a large socialising space from one collection. Because the backrest moves separately, designers should decide early where the ottomans sit and which way the backs face, since that sets whether the layout reads as one lounge or two groups back to back.
