Lucellino NT LED

Lucellino NT is a second wall version of the Lucellino Wall, built so the transformer sits inside the wall plate itself rather than showing as a separate box or cable. It mounts directly onto a wall outlet with no plug or cord in view, and the name plays on the Italian words for little bird and light. It can be installed as a single wall lamp or grouped into a set, and with matching wiring several units can be adjusted together rather than one at a time.

The cover plate is 15 cm across, and a handmade pair of wings, made from goose feathers, sits directly on the E27 socket beneath it, with a red cable soldered straight to the bulb. The bulb itself is an exclusive one made by Ingo Maurer, usable only within the Lucellino family rather than swapped for a generic bulb, and it uses the maker’s newer Ambient LED technology, developed to read closer to halogen light than earlier LED versions managed. It works with earlier LED fixtures in the same family but not with the earlier halogen ones.

Because the piece is not built for rooms with high humidity, Lucellino NT suits a hallway, bedroom, or living room wall rather than a bathroom, and because it can be grouped, a run of several side by side reads as one composition rather than a single isolated fixture.
