Porro’s Storage system rethinks what a wardrobe’s side panel is for. Rather than treating it as a simple divider between sections, the panel becomes a load bearing element that also lets the space inside the wardrobe run continuously from one end to the other, instead of being broken up into separate boxed sections.

The system is built around three structural concepts, a walk in closet, a traditional wardrobe and a boiserie wall panel, designed to match one another so a room can mix open and closed storage. The sliding door configuration is available with a lacquered or wood finish panel door, a melamine faced door, a coloured glass door, or a mirrored door, each set into the same panel and edge structure, so the same frame can carry very different fronts.

Because the sliding doors need no swing clearance, this configuration works particularly well where floor space is tight, letting the wardrobe sit flush against a wall without eating into the room in front of it. The door material is worth deciding early, since it sets the tone for the whole wall.
