Torii’s coffee tables carry over the frame idea that defines the whole collection: two elements resting on top of each other in the manner of a torii gate, so a horizontal bar appears laid across vertical supports rather than welded into one solid mass. That interlocking logic ties the tables to the sofas, armchairs and ottomans in the same family, giving a room furnished with several Torii pieces one structural language even though the tables and seats are used differently.

The frame is formed from solid aluminium bars varnished in Bronze colour, joined at small fittings that let a single bar be replaced if damaged, with a decorative metal button in a Black-Nickel finish at each end. The table is available with a Calacatta or Stone Grey marble surface, a Black pate de verre glass top, or a Liquorice-coloured brushed ash wood top set into a matching lacquered surround; the marble runs 16 mm thick, keeping the table light without losing the weight marble brings to a room. Sizes range up to a generous 120 cm across, with more than one height available.

Because the Torii family also includes sofas, armchairs, ottomans and a console table, this coffee table is meant to sit alongside its own family’s seating, keeping the frame detailing consistent through the room. In a living room, the marble or pate de verre tops suit a scheme leaning toward polished, cool surfaces, while the ash wood top brings a warmer material into the same frame language. A designer choosing between heights should decide whether the table needs to work as a coffee table or a taller side table.
