Tyron Keramik Drive

Tyron works from a contrast between one fixed base and a table top a household can choose largely independently of it, and two of the family’s top materials, glass and ceramic, are also offered as extending Drive tables. Tyron Keramik Drive takes the extending ceramic version, built on the base that gives every Tyron table its identity.

The base is offered as an embossed lacquered steel frame in a range of finishes, or in a brushed metal finish whose tone and texture vary slightly from table to table, characteristic of the handcrafted process rather than a flaw. The Marmi ceramic top and its extensions are finished to match, keeping the surface visually continuous once the table is opened rather than introducing a change in material or shade at the leaf.

An extending ceramic top suits a dining room that needs to move between daily use and a larger gathering without swapping tables, closing back to its everyday length once the extra seating is no longer needed. Designers specifying for a smaller room should confirm the table’s closed footprint fits comfortably, since the design is built around the ability to grow rather than to stay open.
