Eliot Keramik

Eliot is built around a single idea: a steel base that develops from the centre of the table out to the sides, forming a structure that reads as strong without becoming heavy. Cattelan Italia offers the same base across several top materials, from a printed glass version to a wood topped table with irregular edges, and this Eliot Keramik carries the ceramic top, a fixed table rather than one of the extending Eliot Drive versions in the same family.

The base is an embossed lacquered steel frame, in a range of finishes, developing from the centre out to the sides. The top is a Marmi ceramic surface, also in a range of finishes, laid on the base as a separate element rather than bonded to it, which is standard across the Eliot range and keeps the base doing the structural work while the top carries the material argument.

As a fixed table, Eliot Keramik suits a dining room with a settled footprint, where the table does not need to change length. Designers furnishing a room that might later need more seating should note that the same base and top pairing is available in an extending Drive version elsewhere in the Eliot family.
