Amsterdam Keramik shares its design idea with the rest of the Amsterdam family: vertical slats of varying sizes alternate between two finishes across the doors, giving the front a rhythm of light and dark like the keys of a piano. In this version the frame carries a metallic finish throughout, and the door inserts are ceramic rather than wood, projecting outward from the surface to add depth and movement to the pattern.

The structure and doors are built in a lacquered wood finish, in a range of finishes, with ceramic inserts fitted into the doors and a matching ceramic top. Feet are an embossed lacquered steel, formed from two parallel curved plates that add a further contrast of light and shadow beneath the piece, and interior shelves are clear glass, with an internal drawer available inside each door as an option.

The ceramic doors and top suit a dining room or living space where the sideboard needs to read as a more mineral, marble like surface rather than a warmer wood front, and the piece is offered with two, three, or four doors so it can be sized to the wall it sits against. A household drawn to a warmer material can choose the wood fronted Amsterdam elsewhere in the same family, built on the same alternating door pattern.
