Freeman

Freeman is built from two different personalities of seating module rather than one. The Duvet elements are soft and enveloping, with extra-deep cushions meant to feel like a warm embrace, while the Tailor elements are more defined, with one-piece seats finished in visible top-stitching for a sharper, more graphic character. Mixing the two within one layout lets a single sofa serve different moments of the day, from a relaxed corner for lounging to a crisper arrangement for entertaining.

The base carries the argument in metal. An extruded aluminum frame with rounded edges, finished in a glossy bronze paint, is joined at the corners with cast aluminum fittings that read as a design detail rather than hardware, and the sofa is lifted on matching bronze-finished feet for a lighter look off the floor. Inside, the seats are built on plywood with elastic webbing suspension and shaped, variable-density polyurethane foam that cradles the cushion, while the cushions use channeled goose down padding, certified to the Assopiuma Gold Label standard, with a Memory Foam core. Every cover, fabric or leather, is fully removable, and the armrests and backrest uncouple from the base for transport.

Freeman is meant to anchor a living room where family time and entertaining both happen, and Minotti pair it with the Calder coffee tables so the seating and the tables share the same bronzed metal language. A designer can lean toward Duvet modules for a softer reading of the room, Tailor modules for a crisper one, or combine both to change the feel from one seating arrangement to the next.
