Freeman Duvet Sofa

Freeman’s Duvet elements are built around a single sensation: the give of a duvet rather than the firmer support of a conventional sofa cushion. The seat cushions carry a polyurethane core wrapped in memory foam and topped with a layer of down, and the whole structure is wrapped in a heat-sealed fiber covering to keep that softness reading consistently across the piece.

Armrests and backrests carry a stitching motif that ties the sofa to Minotti’s tailoring work elsewhere in the collection, and on the fabric version the panels are joined with a strip of bronze-colored eco-leather, double-stitched, while the leather version uses a strip in the same leather as the rest of the upholstery. Underneath, the frame is plywood with elastic webbing for the seat and a foam-wrapped structure for the arms and back, laminated to a hypoallergenic cotton fabric. Seat cushions are reversible, with goose down over a high-resilience polyurethane core wrapped in memory foam, and every cover comes off in the fabric version by loosening the metal base with a supplied key; the leather structure stays fixed. The frame itself is extruded aluminum with cast aluminum joints, finished in a glossy, anti-fingerprint Bronze.

An optional headrest and lumbar cushion turn the Freeman Duvet into a sofa built for reading and lounging rather than upright sitting, which makes it suit a family room or a den more than a formal living room. Designers specifying it for a softer, more relaxed seating area should plan for the headrest option from the start, since it changes the proportions of the backrest.
