Bellagio Coffee Table

Bellagio keeps one structure constant and lets the top material change the character of the table. A slim tubular metal base carries a round top, and the idea is that the same outline can read as minimalist, material-led or dark and reflective depending on what sits on it.

Each top is chosen for what it does to light and weight. Calacatta marble, with a shaped perimeter edge, brings visible veining and a sense of matter. Black Marquina is darker and more graphic. Reflecting Smoked Grey glass, stratified and tempered, mirrors the room back and makes the table visually recede. Corian gives a uniform, minimalist surface and is paired with a matt varnished base, and a thin metal top matching the base turns the whole piece into one material. The base tube is only 30 mm across, which keeps even the heavier marble versions light on the floor.

In living rooms, a larger Bellagio in front of a sofa pairs well with a smaller one grouped nearby at a different height, and the side table format works beside a lounge chair or a bed. Because the base is so slender, the table suits rooms where the floor and rug should stay in view. In hospitality, the round form avoids corners in busy lounges, hotel suites and bars. Designers should pick the top by the surroundings: glass or metal where a room already has a lot of stone, marble where it needs weight, and Corian where a quiet, even surface is wanted.
