Wall System starts from the bookcase itself, treated as the living room’s functional focal point rather than one piece of furniture among several. Poliform builds it on a load-bearing frame that is then visually lightened by a slender grid structure, so the storage reads as an armature holding shelves, doors, and panels rather than a solid wall of casework. The system is meant to keep absorbing new functions over time instead of being fixed at the point of purchase.

That same frame can carry a combination of shelving and doors, display cases, or back panels, and the back panels can be specified in precious materials such as marble, so the identical structure can read as furniture-grade wood and metal or as something closer to architectural stonework depending on what a room calls for. A series of elements extend the bookcase’s job further: hinged or drop-leaf doors that can turn one section into a bar or a home office corner, and display cases meant for objects, art, ceramics, and glassware, alongside drawers, television shelving, and integrated lighting worked into the same composition.

Because the frame is what accepts all of these additions, Wall System suits a living room where storage needs to do more than hold books, doubling as a bar corner, a home office nook, or a place to display collected objects behind glass. Designers should decide which of those functions the room actually needs before laying out the grid, since the bar, the office corner, and the display cases each ask for a different placement of doors and shelves within the same frame.
