Frank is built as a single material carried across two different finishes rather than a table that mixes distinct materials for its top and its structure. The top is painted in a glossy steel finish while the frame beneath is painted matt, so the two parts of the table read as separate elements without introducing a second material into the piece.

The frame is built from painted steel profiles rather than a solid block, a construction that keeps the base visually lighter than the material alone would suggest. Plastic ferrules at the base of the frame protect the floor and let the table sit level even on an uneven surface.

Frank works equally well as a coffee table in front of a sofa or as a side table beside a single chair, since its steel construction and modest scale suit either role without requiring a different version for each. A designer pairing it with other pieces in the room should think about whether a glossy or a matt finish already dominates nearby surfaces, since Frank’s contrast between the two only reads clearly against a scheme that is not already mixing sheens.
