Borea’s small tables begin from a support problem rather than a single fixed shape: outdoor lounges rarely need only one size or height of table, so the collection is built as a family of forms that can be set at different heights and dimensions to answer whatever a seating group actually needs, rather than being one occasional table repeated everywhere.

The frame is a slender rod in painted steel, tubular stainless steel underneath, which keeps the base visually light against the heavier top it carries. Table tops are enamelled lava stone, a volcanic stone with an enamelled surface that B&B Italia offer in several colours, like the painted frame, set on ferrules and spacers in plastic material where the frame meets the ground. Because a table like this lives outdoors year round, B&B Italia also offers a fitted waterproof cover in PES fabric coated with PU on one side, for protection when the table is not in use.

Because the range covers several heights and footprints, a designer can run three or four Borea tables through a single terrace or poolside seating group instead of matching separate pieces from different collections. Laying out that kind of outdoor lounge works best when the various Borea heights are chosen together with the seating, rather than adding a table afterward.
