Cratis

Cratis is offered less as a fixed product than as a shape to be specified: it is made in a round version, a rectangular version, and to measure, so the rug can be set to answer a room’s actual floor plan rather than asking the room to accommodate a standard size.

The material is 100 percent mohair wool, a single natural fibre that B&B Italia present as a complement for every kind of interior.

A round Cratis suits a room organised around a round table or a circular seating arrangement, anchoring the space without the corners a rectangular rug would introduce, while the rectangular version works under a sofa run or a dining table where the furniture itself is arranged on straight lines. Because it can be made to measure, Cratis is also a practical answer to an awkward floor plan, a bay window or a landing, where a standard rug size would leave an uneven border of bare floor around it. When a made to measure Cratis is specified, the finished size is best confirmed against the final furniture layout, since the rug is produced for that room rather than taken from stock.
