Ray Outdoor Natural

Ray Outdoor Natural translates the indoor Ray collection into a material built for weather, keeping the same interlacing rope pattern but reworking it in a texture that recalls Manila hemp. That braided surface is built in textilene precisely because the material can be left outside, which is the reasoning behind moving an indoor design into a garden or terrace setting.

Underneath the braid, the frame is tubular aluminium and aluminium profiles finished with a polyester powder coating, chosen to withstand sun and moisture. The upholstery combines shaped polyurethane with Solotex fibre and a visco elastic polyurethane layer, wrapped in a water repellent polyester fibre cover. The collection is offered with two different bases: feet in die-cast aluminium extrusion for a lighter reading, or a solid teakwood base-frame for a heavier, more traditional look.

Because the collection includes sofas in two depths as well as modular elements and an armchair, Ray Outdoor Natural can fill a large terrace or scale back to a single armchair on a smaller terrace. The choice between the aluminium and teakwood base is a choice about the rest of the outdoor room, since the teakwood reads closer to traditional garden furniture.
