Landscape starts from a simple structural decision: build a chaise longue on a light steel frame rather than a heavier one, so the piece reads as pared back even though its footprint is generous. The one moving part on an otherwise fixed shape is the headrest, which is not hinged or ratcheted into position but held by a set of magnets, so it can be lifted and repositioned freely rather than clicking between a fixed set of angles.

The frame is built in tubular steel and steel profiles with a drawn steel support underneath, padded throughout with a flexible cold shaped polyurethane foam under a polyester fibre cover, and finished with thermoplastic ferrules where it meets the floor. The cover itself, in fabric or leather, is sewn in segments and comes off the frame completely, which is also how the headrest is built: a separate shaped polyurethane pad with its own polyester fibre cover, magnetically fixed rather than sewn into the main upholstery, so it can be removed on its own.

As a chaise longue, Landscape suits a living room where a lounging piece needs to sit apart from the main sofa rather than attach to it, and its light steel frame keeps it from reading as heavy in a smaller room. Because the cover comes off completely, designers can plan for the piece to be re-covered later without replacing the frame underneath.
