Lido’s welcoming, nest-like shape is the whole idea: a curved body cradles the seat padding rather than sitting square around it, a line softened here with textured fabrics and ergonomic cushioning. The armchair is offered on two different supports built from the same wood language, resting either on four solid legs or on a cross-shaped base, so the same seat can read as more traditional or more architectural depending on which one is chosen.

Both supports come in a moka-lacquered open-pore ash, or in Canaletto walnut with a dark stain and a matte lacquer finish, with a decorative steel insert in a bronze colour set into the top of each leg. Inside, the seat and backrest cushions are filled with channeled goose down over a high-resilience foam core, and on the armchair, whichever support is chosen, those cushions are reversible, so wear spreads more evenly over time. The full structure, seat and backrest cover come off completely, in fabric and in leather alike.

The four-legged version suits a room built around traditional case pieces and warmer wood tones, while the X-shaped base version is the one Minotti point to as the easiest to pair with other pieces in the collection. Because the cushions are reversible, Lido is a reasonable choice for a household or a hospitality room expecting daily use, since the chair does not need reupholstering as soon as one side of the cushion wears. Designers should match the leg finish, moka ash or dark walnut, to the room’s existing wood tones before choosing a covering.
