Erica Outdoor Chair

Erica’s design decision is a technological blend of extruded and die-cast aluminium, used to build a chair offered in several versions, including a stackable one, and in two types of interlacing. Rather than a single fixed reading, the frame and weave combination lets the same basic chair present in more than one form while keeping the same aluminium construction underneath.

The interlacing itself is a polypropylene fibre braid, worked over a seat webbing of polypropylene fibre and synthetic rubber threads for give under weight. Seat cushions are shaped polyurethane wrapped in polyester fibre recycled from PET, finished with a water repellent polyester fibre cover, and the back upholstery uses the same recycled polyester fibre construction. Ferrules are thermoplastic, and a waterproof protective cover in PES cloth coated with polyurethane on one side is available. The cushions carry a decorative profile at the edge, adding a tailored line to what is otherwise a woven, technical looking chair.
