Erica’s armchair carries the same foot detail across the wider Erica series, letting different pieces in the range read as one family from the ground up rather than only through their frame colour. The frame is built in die-cast aluminium with a powder coated finish chosen for the light weight and durability that outdoor furniture needs, and the interlacing across the seat and back is a polypropylene ribbon engineered for that outdoor use rather than an indoor weave adapted for it.

Underneath the interlacing, the seat is supported by a webbing of polypropylene fibre and synthetic rubber threads, and both the seat and back cushions are built from a shaped polyurethane and polyester fibre recycled from PET, wrapped in a water repellent polyester cover. A decorative profile finishes the edge of each seat cushion, giving the upholstery a soft appearance even though the fill underneath is built for outdoor durability. A waterproof protective cover in PES fabric coated with polyurethane on one side is also part of the specification.

Because Erica comes in different sizes and depths, including a version with a high backrest and an integrated headrest built for relaxation rather than upright sitting, it can furnish both a residential terrace and a public outdoor setting without changing the underlying design. Designers choosing between the low and high backrest versions should think about whether the seating is meant for short outdoor stays or extended lounging.
